Skeinstead ("we," "us") runs this website. This policy explains what information is collected when you visit, and how it's used. In short, we collect very little.
Information we collect
Email signup
If you sign up for our newsletter, your email address goes to Kit (kit.com), the email service we use to store our subscriber list and send the newsletter. Kit handles that information under its own privacy policy.
- Double opt-in: after you sign up, Kit sends you a confirmation email. You're only added to the newsletter once you click the link in it.
- What we use it for: we use your email address only to send the Skeinstead newsletter, and we don't sell it.
- Unsubscribe anytime: every newsletter has an unsubscribe link. You can also email us to be removed.
Analytics
Placeholder: This site doesn't use analytics yet. If we add a privacy-friendly analytics tool to count visits and popular pages, we'll name it here and describe what it collects before it goes live.
Hosting and server logs
Our hosting provider may process technical information like IP address, browser type and the pages requested. They use it to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
Affiliate links and cookies
Some links go to retailers through affiliate programs (see our affiliate disclosure). When you click one, the retailer or its affiliate network may set a cookie in your browser so it can credit Skeinstead if you buy. Those cookies are controlled by the retailer or network under their own privacy policies, not by us. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Third-party content
We load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers. Links to other websites are covered by those sites' own policies.
Children
This site isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from emails at any time once they start. You can also ask us to delete your email address by writing to [email protected].
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date above.
